PROFILE

A little background...

I was born and bred in Sunderland, with a love for SAFC and savoury dips! From an early age the passion for photography was passed on from my dad through his work. Having a permanent dark-room at home just fuelled me even more. Art, graphics & photography was my bag at school, resulting in the highest grades possible in Photography - (GCSE, A Level, HND & Degree)

Career history...

Straight from uni I worked for a Northern press agency, based in West Yorkshire, dealing with National broadsheets, tabloids and publications. Working as a Picture Desk Manager then progressed to a photographer. The feeling of seeing your work in print, being tangible is something that is still as strong today as way back then some 23+ years ago.

An unusual opportunity presented when I was given the chance of becoming a Police Photographic Officer. A world away from ‘the mags and the rags’, police photography demands high technical and interpretive skills. The remit was wide – from crime scenes to aerial photography, from public disorder to surveillance, and more. Each picture not only captured vital evidence but told the story.

World of freelance...

Since 2010 I've been freelance and coupled with my passion for cars this has taken me some way down the automotive route. With now over a 23 year career in photography I have the privilege to shoot for the likes of Bentley Motors, Honda UK, Toyota and several automotive magazine titles. Event and product launches across various sectors.

Based in Bradford, West Yorkshire I cover on a regular base from Liverpool to Hull and Birmingham to Newcastle. Although predominately based in the North of the UK I travel throughout Wales, Scotland and Europe for clients.

From PR to Editorial, Lifestyle to Commercial, I've an eye to tell a story...
